Marlborough Town Council presentation acknowledges Tim and Jonelle Price's achievements
The world's top equestrian eventing couple, Tim and Jonelle Price who are based in Mildenhall and live in Marlborough, were honoured with a dedicated momento by Mayor Councillor Mervyn Hall at the start of the full Town Council meeting (July 22) as recognition of their outstanding sporting achievements.
Tim Price was recently named as the World's number one eventer by the International Equestrian Federation and they have both represented their home country, New Zealand on many occasions including at the Olympics and the World Equestrian Games.
Last weekend they were both representing New Zealand in Aachen in the Nation's Cup competition, from which they only returned on Sunday.
Their schedule during the eventing season is relentless. After this presentation they were leaving to catch a 2.00am ferry to Ireland where they will be competing with six horses at various levels in the Senna Lease Campline International Horse Trials at Cappoquin in County Waterford.
Jonelle has entered with Grovine de Reve and Grappa Nera. Tim has entered with Spartaco, Bango, Senza Fine and Happy Boy. The Town Mayor wished them both more successes in the future.
Mayor Mervyn Hall noted the town's long association with Marlborough in New Zealand and on behalf of the Town Council and Marlborough as a whole, and he thanked them for all they had done to promote the Marlborough area and wished them every success in the forthcoming event in Ireland and beyond.
