Keyflow Stage1v3

Their wedding postponed, Olympic dreams on hold, but 2020 isn’t all bad for local eventing duo Jesse Campbell & Georgie Strang

It’s been a turbulent year for eventing’s newest power couple, who are based near Ramsbury.  COVID-19 has not only put Jesse’s Tokyo Olympic campaign on hold, but also interrupted their wedding plans.  It is now in the diary for November.

Jesse Campbell is a member of the New Zealand Eventing High Performace Squad: “We are still quietly hopeful that Tokyo is on the cards. We will continue to train that way and look towards it”.

Georgie Strang has represented Great Britain at Nations Cup events:  “As for the wedding - well we are just trying to rearrange and make a plan within the COVID guidelines. It has been disappointing - but it’s not the worst thing. We’re now onto plan F but are determined to make it happen!”

The change has left time to focus on building their J&G Eventing business, which now has the support of one of the world’s most recognised horse wear companies.

As the newest additions to the Shires Sponsored Rider Team, the pair will act as ambassadors for the Shires rugs range and ARMA carbon horse boot collection.

Georgie and Jesse are thrilled with this new partnership.  Jesse:  "We are delighted to be working with Shires. The protection the ARMA horse boots offer is second to none. The quality and fit of their rugs is exceptional and there is something in the range to fit every horse and suit every weather condition”.

Georgie:  “It’s been a tough year for a lot of businesses, we are really proud to be associated with a brand like Shires, that is continuing to do it’s best to support the equestrian community through its sponsored rider and brand ambassador programs.”

Stuart Ainge is co-director at Shires Equestrian: “We are thrilled to welcome Jesse & Georgie to Team Shires. They are no doubt an equestrian power couple, but also formidable riders in their own right."

"Alongside their many accolades as top international event riders, they are also both lovely, down to earth people with a genuine passion for horses - everything that we value and respect at Shires. Everyone here at Shires HQ is excited for the journey ahead."

"I think we will have some real fun with Jesse & Georgie as ambassadors for our ARMA Carbon horse boots range and Shires Rugs, which are well known all over the world - and I’m sure we’ll see some great riding successes.”

Founded in 1968, Shires started life on a single sewing machine making home made horse rugs. More than five decades on, Shires is now the go-to brand for riders across the world. Famed for its bold, bright and innovative rug prints, in addition to a whole range of horse and rider wear, Shires Equestrian blends classic and contemporary styles to suit every horse and rider

Holding a Royal Warrant to supply Her Majesty the Queen since 2009, Shires is one of the leading equestrian brands with over 2,500 stockists worldwide and is a household name in every equestrian yard.

In 2017, Shires launched the brand ARMA - a professional horse boot that supports performance by providing high impact protection for the joints, tendons and ligaments using the latest equine defence technology.
