The Trophy is the most valuable steeplechase anywhere in the country - bar the Grand National.  This race was first run in 1957.   Last year it was won by the Colin Tizzard trained Sizing Tennessee under Tom Scudamore - coming home ten lengths ahead of another Tizzard trained horse Elegant Escape.

So we are holding a competition - it's open to all our readers and five winners get a free pair of tickets.  All we need is your name and email address (so Newbury Racecourse can contact you about the tickets) - and a couple of answers.  Entries with the correct answers will go into a - large? - hat and the winning five names will be drawn.

Questions:

1.  In 2015 the race was won by Smad Place - who trained him and where?

2. Between 2005 & 2015 which Lambourn trainer won the race two years running?

Email your answers - with full name - to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.   This competition closes at noon on 14 November 2019.
