Eventing: Chelsea Pearce leads all the way - as Brits lead the world

Local eventer Chelsea Pearce has scored a major victory at the Brand Hall International Horse Trials (June 1-2) near Market Drayton.

She won the CIC* competition on her horse Djakota EB - leading the thirty-six entries who completed the competition.  They finished on their dressage score of 25.1 - adding no more penalties in the showjumping or cross country disciplines - and ended ahead of the second placed pair by 4.6 points.

Meanwhile on the wider international scene, five British event riders have been placed in the top ten of the International Equestrian Federation's May rankings.  Oliver Townend remains in top spot with Gemma Tattersall (2), Rosalind Carter(3), Sarah Bullamore (5) and Izzy Taylor (7).

Taking fourth place in the world rankings is Marlborough based New Zealand rider Tim Price.
